By Faith Iverson, NonStop Local Digital Producer at KHQ News Apr 17, 2025
AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. – The West Plains will soon see the opening of the Hope Center, a collaboration between the Women's Healing and Empowerment Network (WHEN) and the West Plains Safety Alliance.
This center is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for those in need.
Alise Mnati, Board President of the West Plains Safety Alliance, highlighted the significance of the Hope Center.
“WHEN and the West Plains Safety Alliance have a shared dedication to making the community safer and happier,” Mnati said.
The Hope Center will include WHEN's Warehouse and Cleone's Closet, offering free resources for individuals looking to improve their living situations.
Mable Dunbar, founder and President of WHEN, described the center as a "one-stop organization that assists individuals needing hope."
WHEN joined the West Plains Safety Alliance in 2023. Mnati emphasized that the partnership strengthens their missions and enhances support for individuals across the West Plains.
The Hope Center will also host programs like the West Plains Victim Services and Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD), providing advocacy and resources to those facing violence or instability due to behavioral health or substance misuse.
Current resources at the Hope Center include Cleone’s Closet for free clothing, WHEN’s Warehouse for household items, and support services from West Plains Victim Services and LEAD West Plains.
Located at 13326 West Sunset Highway, the Hope Center is set to open on May 1, 2025.
